Why are we called The Great Video Hack Shop? Print

Funny you shouldask, but here's our take on it.

Over the years, the hacks have always been around, "hacking" something together that will pass for TV.

Of late, budgets tightened, the web advanced, and the amount of "hack work" has risen. It isn't hard to see the shows people do themselves on their PC.

In the business we called the hacks that were working on the technology a step down from what one was working with.  For example the Hollywood film guys called the commercial film guys hacks.  The commercial film guys called the video guys hacks.  The video guys called the miniDV guys hacks.  Then, along came desktop video, Youtube, Google Video, Vimeo and the integration of video into many websites and blogs...and the hacks came into vogue.  The reason the hack versions have taken off is real simple...the low cost and apparent ease of doing these things. No surprise there.

Now, when you hear of these video's getting hundreds of thousands of views, suddenly a hack video doesn't sound so bad.  And..what if it wasn't just great content, but, what if it looked cool too, and perhaps even exposed right?

That's where we got the idea of doing the "hack" video better than the hacks can do.  Get it?   Even with the little minidv camera's our pros can do short slick video productions, that stand out,  at hack prices.

Also, it should be noted that to "hack" is to cut, as in edit.  As a matter of fact, if you ask anyone in the know if they could hack something together, they'll know exactly what you're talking about.

The bottom line, our "hacks" are better.  So what are you wating for, apply to be considered by registering and then submit your project that our cool hacks might just take on!  You have nothing to lose!
